D-053, Progressive Design-Builder Selection Procedures, is a practical document used for owners and owner’s advisors planning a progressive design-build procurement. Intended primarily for one-step, qualifications-based selection, D-053 helps the Owner determine and document procurement strategy, project requirements, contract structure, and related administrative decisions before issuing the RFQ and related documents. Particularly useful as both a checklist and decision record, D-053 helps organize the development of progressive design-build procurement and contract requirements while supporting coordination among the Owner, Owner’s Advisor, legal counsel, and risk advisors.

EJCDC includes the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the participation of more than fifteen other professional engineering design, construction, owner, legal, and risk management organizations.
