This guide presents a hands-on discussion of grouting fundamentals and provides a foundation for the development of practical specifications and field procedures. With a pragmatic approach to the subject of grouting, Henn concentrates on types of drilling, mixing, and pumping equipment, as well as their application. The book focuses on how cementitious grouting is used on conjunction with the excavation and lining of tunnels, shafts, and underground caverns in rock. Overviews of cementitious grouting in soils and chemical grouting are also provided. Topics range from record keeping to quality control and testing requirements to field operations, and production rates.
This book is written as a useful handbook for engineers, construction supervisors, inspectors, and other professionals involved in the planning, design, and implementation of underground grouting programs.
About the Author Raymond W. Henn, Ph.D., P.E., is a principal of Lyman Henn, Inc., where he is responsible for tunnel and underground engineering and for construction management services. He is the coauthor of Ultrafine Cement in Pressure Grouting (ASCE Press, 2010) and the editor of AUA Guidelines for Backfilling and Contact Grouting of Tunnels and Shafts (ASCE Press, 2003).
