This Geotechnical Practice Publication contains 12 peer-reviewed technical papers that address the role of geotechnical engineering in the design and construction of deep foundations, earth retaining structures, and pavements. Several of the papers focus on the Marquette Interchange Project, a multimillion dollar reconstruction of transportation in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. Topics include earth retaining structures, pile foundations, and pavement geotechnics.
