Prepared by the Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee (EJCDC).
E-525 is for use in retaining an engineering firm to prepare a study and report—for example, an evaluation of a project’s feasibility, facility needs, treatment options, or siting challenges. E-525 does not include design-phase or construction-phase engineering services. It contains an abbreviated set of terms and conditions that is appropriate for its narrow and preliminary scope of services.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Utilities Service (RUS) has preapproved the use of certain standard EJCDC engineering and construction series documents for use in projects funded under the RUS Water and Waste Disposal program as described in RUS Bulletin1780-26. Please note that Bulletin 1780-26 was updated on 5/10/24 to incorporate The Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) provisions of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Pub. L. 117-58, § 70901-52).
EJCDC includes the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the participation of more than fifteen other professional engineering design, construction, owner, legal, and risk management organizations.
EJCDC documents are delivered in Microsoft Word format (file extension *.doc). Microsoft Word is required if you wish to edit the files.
